The Town of Langley and Whidbey Island links

Langley is a town of about 1000 sitting on the edge of a bank overlooking a small boat harbor. The above photo is an early morning street scene from Mike's Place — a local eatery.

Ever since the late 1940’s, the town has attracted creative urban malcontents. These are people with urban sensibilities and taste but who choose to live close to nature in a small community.

When we first moved here in 1981 the town had seven live theater groups! The south end of Whidbey is filled with artists, craftspeople, writers and inventors. And more than a few eccentrics...

Not surprisingly, galleries, theaters, antique stores and arts and crafts abound. In addition, there are several fine restaurants that serve exceptional food in a relaxed environment.
